Image of the Week: Argumentative Writing for the Courtroom

This week we are sharing an image of the week which can be used by students to showcase their argumentative writing. Using the ThingLink 360/VR image editor and Google Docs, students can be given a scenario to give the opening argument either defending or prosecuting a historical figure or literary character. Other tags could include evidence to support their writing. 

This activity would support the following learning standards:

  • ISTE Standards for Students #6
    • Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals.
  • CCSS ELA Writing 6-8-1: 
    • Write arguments focused on discipline-specific content.
