ThingLink 360/VR Bootcamps provide powerful professional development opportunities for educators interested in shifting student learning experiences from consumption to creation. Over the past year, we have facilitated many Bootcamps in locations across the US. Celebrating a Total Solar Eclipse!

total solar eclipse will cross the United States today, starting just after 10 a.m. PT in Oregon and ending just before 3 p.m. in South Carolina. Depending on your viewing location, the eclipse will last between 1  and about 2 1/2 minutes. Those gathering outdoors to catch a glimpse of this rare occurrence need to prepare for viewing. Design A Student-Driven Learning Project for the ThingLink Teacher Challenge Part I

In the 4th week of the self-paced ThingLink Teacher Challenge we introduce using ThingLink to design student-driven learning projects around real world issues. We have broken this challenge down into parts to help make the most of the opportunity to bring students to the highest level of learning. It is our goal to simplify this important task for participants.  There are currently only a small number of teachers managing to keep up with our pace so we will take advantage of this opportunity to slow things down a bit and unpack the pieces.

Creating an interactive Virtual Field Trip on top of a 360 image is a natural fit! Designers can take many different approaches when creating these learning experiences. At the most basic level, we can bring our audience to a place to learn. We can learn find opportunities in a very small space, such as a summer garden, or we can bring visitors to a historical site, like Gettysburg.
